Why can't I play my CD-RW in my audio/music CD player?
For audio/music CDs, you'll want to work with CD-R rather than CD-RW because you can't play CD-RW discs in normal audio/music CD players.
Why can't I play my CD-R in my audio/music CD player?
Here are a few reasons why your CD-R disc may not be working properly in your CD players:
Disc compatibility - not all brands of CD-R players are compatible with all brands of CD-R disc. Find a combination of writer, disc and player that work together.
Audio tracks burned in multiple sessions - remember to burn all of the audio tracks in one session on a CD-R. Normal audio/music CD players cannot find the later sessions, so tracks written in later sessions won't get played. You might be able to play it back with your CD writer.
Speed problems - some CDs work better written at 1x, 2x, or 4x than it does at other speeds. You may find that slowing down or speeding up the writer helps.
MP3/OGG/WMA/WAV files in CD-ROM format - remember to burn the CD in CD-DA format. If you write MP3/OGG/WMA/WAV files to a CD in CD-ROM format, the CD will not work in your home CD player.
Why can't my drive read 700MB/80min CD-Rs?
Some CD-ROM drives as well as home and car CD player can have difficulty reading the 700MB/80 minute CD-Rs because the track spacing is closer together than lower capacity CD-Rs.
Which burn method should I choose for music CD?
Track-At-Once - The music CD will be written WITH silence intervals between tracks.
The result CD will NOT be closed for writing, so additional tracks can be added later. However, normal audio/music CD players cannot find the later sessions, so tracks written in later sessions won't get played.
Session-At-Once - The music CD will be written WITHOUT silence intervals between tracks.
The result CD will NOT be closed for writing, so additional tracks can be added later. However, normal audio/music CD players cannot find the later sessions, so tracks written in later sessions won't get played.
Disc-At-Once - The music CD will be written WITHOUT silence intervals between tracks.
The result CD will be closed for writing, so additional tracks CANNOT be added to the CD.
